They also help strike a conversation with a total stranger who happens to be your ‘customer’ or ‘client’. These words display strong leanings of Gujaratis towards trade and respect for one’s customer in the good old ‘mahajan pratha’. People often address strangers as ‘boss’, ‘party’, ‘seth’ and ‘prabhu’.
